Goodwood Festival of Speed 2010

Its Saturday 3rd July, and here in our West Sussex Showroom we are all keeping one eye trained on the window hoping to catch a glimpse of the Red Arrows as they arrive over the Sussex Downs to carry out their fantastic air display at the 2010 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The Festival of Speed is the largest motoring extravaganza in the world – a unique weekend combining a spectacular mix of cars, stars and motor sport ‘royalty’ to create the largest car culture event in the world. Taking place in the pristine grounds of Goodwood House, this annual hill-climb event is a true celebration of motor sport and all things automotive.

Stars old and new attend the event, and this year will see over 20 World Champions and 80 drivers and riders with more than 70 world championships between them in attendance. Familiar faces in the crowd will include Sir Jackie Stewart, Mika Hakkinen, Sir Stirling Moss and Patrick Tambay..

Reigning Formula One World Champion Jenson Button will be partaking in the famous Goodwood hillclimb, along with his McLaren team mate and 2008 World Champion Lewis Hamilton. Joining the McLaren drivers will be fellow 2010 season F1 competitors Mark Webber behind the wheel of his Red Bull, Nico Rosberg in action in his Mercedes, and Bruno Senna, driving his uncle Ayrton’s iconic McLaren MP4/8.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is the only event which attracts at least half a dozen of the current Formula 1 teams, all located in their own paddock where the public can mingle at their leisure. Other attractions include current and historic race cars and motorcycles, the very latest supercars, rally cars and simply everything motorsport!
