Fireplaces are, more often than not, the focal point of a room. They are often installed when the house is constructed and as a result can be the one thing that may date a property’s interior more than any other. When updating an interior, it can be easy enough to replace a fireplace surround, and choosing white adds to the longevity of your design. If you are looking to update the look of a wooden fire surround, why not simply paint it white?

White Franklin Fireplace
Stylist Pippa Jameson echoes the thought at Pippia Jameson Interiors. When faced with a query of whether it would be wise to paint a wooden fireplace white – in a modern living room with light coloured walls and a wooden floor – her response is most definately yes.
White fireplaces can look stunning, and white painted fireplaces with hand carved details such as our Franklin Fireplace are most definately a timeless option.
For good wood paints, try looking at Zoffany and Farrow and Ball. All of which have a lovely chalky feel and will stand the test of time.
