Soapbox Derby at Goodwood, Sunday 10th October
CancerWise Soapbox Derby at Goodwood Motor Circuit
Here at New England Lifestyle we are all looking forward to Sunday 10th October, the date of the first Cancerwise Soapbox Derby at the Goodwood Motor Circuit.
The event is promising to be a great day out with numerous attractions and activities for all ages, including the main event – the Soapbox Derby. It may be only two weeks away, but there is still time to enter!!! Why not club together with friends, family or workmates to build your own mobile vehicle and be in with a chance of glory at Goodwood?!
There are three classes to choose from – under 16s, over 16s and businesses. The 100 metre course begins with a purpose built ramp and runs part of the Goodwood Motor Circuit to the finish line. Your soapbox must have four wheels, have no propulsion unit of any kind, be capable of being steered and have some kind of braking mechanism. All competitors must be at least 12 years of age and your team must have 3 drivers. Some of the many other attractions on the day will include all types of vehicles from past and present, from track and road, the unusual, custom built and exotic cars and bikes. A giant scalextric competition, and rides and stalls for the children, plus delicious food and refreshments and an opportunity to visit the iconic Goodwood racetrack.
The whole event is being held in order to raise much needed funds for local charity CancerWise; a Chichester based charity offering support and information to anyone concerned about cancer. Staff at New England Lifestyle have first hand experience of the invaluable support and friendly faces to be found at CancerWise, and wish them every success for their Soapbox Derby at Goodwood!
