White Bookcases

Bookcases are a great choice of furniture for displaying your books or accessories and are  suitable for any room of your home. Whilst on holiday, sitting outside a beautiful cafe in France, I was looking through the French magazine Maison Cote Sud when I saw a bookcase about four feet high with a drawer at the top. When I returned to my office I designed the Westport White Bookcase with a double bookcase with two drawers above, or a single bookcase with one drawer at the top.

It is great having a bookcase with a drawer at the top for all of those things you want to keep but hide away. It is also suitable for halls where there is not enough room for a hall table and with the drawer at the top it is ideal for storing car keys etc.  The shelves can be used to store magazines below. The shelves are screwed in down the sides and along the back with a supporting wooded detail running along the front for extra strength, so you can load the shelves with heavy books and the shelves wont bow.

The New Hampshire Bookcase comes in two sizes  the single one being just 52 cm wide is  ideal for small alcoves or even bathrooms with towel and toiletry displayed on them.

We have the New Hampshire bookcase in our play room with DVDs on the top shelves and toys in wicker baskets on the lower shelves. With  a drawer each at the bottom for our two children.
