Creating your own New England home interior is really quite easy.

Bleached floorboards i.e. maple, oak, beech or just painted pine floorboards, white walls and white woodwork, is your starting point. Then add in our white furniture and add colour through cushions, throws and curtains.

I have been creating white interiors for many years now, and quite often go back to using everything white including carpets, curtains, paint, floor finishing and accessories. If you have never been in a totally white environment, it is hard to understand how amazing it makes you feel. It really does not matter if the whites are all slightly different whites; it just looks and feels incredible.

Some people say to me “Doesn’t it feel cold?” But no! It suits all the seasons of the year. For example, add a beautiful green Christmas Tree with white ribbons and baubles and white lights and you create a magical Christmas look. In the summer the light that is created in your home will make you feel inspired and refreshed.
