Beach Huts at West Wittering Beach

If you ask anyone in the area to recommend the best nearby beach, and the answer is always West Wittering!

The natural, unspoilt sandy beach at West Wittering has been a favourite family day out for generations. West Wittering Beach offers wonderful views of Chichester Harbour and the South Downs beyond, and is a “must visit” location all year round.

On a crisp wintery morning, a walk around East Head (the sand dune spit to the far western end of West Wittering Beach) is sure to blow the cobwebs away. Play in the sand dunes, watch the boats as they moor up, and jump in the “sinky sand” as it is known to my family!!! Further up the beach be inspired by the wind surfers, kite surfers and awesome kite buggys shooting up and down the expanse of sand!

In the summer months a dip in the sea is a must… and as a Blue Flag Beach, West Wittering is a safe choice for families. As the tide goes out we love to swim out to the sand dunes and play in the shallow water. For those who are lucky enough to own one of the 156 Beach Huts (or at least know someone who does!!!) West Wittering Beach really is the place where you can wile away many a happy hour with the whole family.

If you have a long blank wall and you are looking for drawer storage, then our large white multidrawer units are a great choice. With a total of seven substantial storage drawers, they really do hold a lot of clothes!!!! If you do not have the width for such a unit but are still look for drawer space, then our white tall chests are what you are looking for.

Find your perfect bedside table from our choice of ten variations. If you have the space, finish the room with a dressing table and/or a mirror. We have a choice of four dressing tables varying from 121cm wide to just 94cm, and a selection of large and small white mirrors to match. Alternatively, why not choose a white full length mirror, which can be either wall mounted or simply leant against the wall?

Godrevy Lighthouse, Cornwall

Many people flock  to Cornwall every year to enjoy the expanses of sandy beaches, glistening white surf and the beautiful landscapes.

At New England Lifestyle we can wholeheartedly recommend a visit to Godrevy, an area on the North Coast of West Cornwall within St Ives Bay. Godrevy Head has some of the most stunning coastal heathland in the country, and the majority of the headland is owned by the National Trust and open to the public. Whilst the western side of Godrevy Head is bounded by rocks to the north, a wide sandy beach stretches to the south where surfers are a regular sight.

Looking across the vast sandy beaches, you can catch a glimpse of Godrevy Lighthouse, an operational white lighthouse standing on Godrevy Point, just 300 yards from Godrevy Head. Built in 1858-1859, the lighthouse is a white octagonal tower, 86 feet (26 m) high constructed of rubble-stone and mortar.

If you are looking for a holiday cottage to rent in this area, The Beach House is a great choice. Quietly set back from the sea on Gwithian Towans with stunning views towards Godrevy lighthouse and St Ives, the property is less than 5 minutes walk to the expansive sands. Recently refurbished in the New England Style,  the Beach House is amongst the largest properties on the Towans and sleeps 7 comfortably. The beach is fully lifeguarded in season, dolphins and seals are frequently sighted.

After your Cornish break, our Tall White Lighthouse will be a wonderful reminder of a relaxing holiday in a truly remarkable location.

Lume di Candela

With just a little imagination, a seemingly simple glass hurricane lamp can be transformed into a stunning centrepiece for your dining table.

Pictured right we have filled our large “Lume di Candela” from Riviera Maison with just a few shells and a simple white pillar candle. The light sparkles in the glass lamp creating a calming atmosphere – perfect for a dinner party, or just as a feature in your living room, adding warmth to your interior design.

For a romantic twist, perhaps fill the bottom of the lamp with dried rose petals or sprigs of lavender to add a splash of colour along with wonderful scents.

Snowdrops

The appearance of the first flowers of the year is always such a welcoming sight, hinting that the warmer weather is on its way.

The first snowdrops are a particularly beautiful sight, as their gentle green shoots and crisp white flowers gradually appear through a white blanket of snow – or provide a sparkling glimpse of pure crisp white on a dull winter’s day.

Most snowdrops flower in winter, before the Spring Equinox on 21st March.

To immerse yourself in the beautiful world of these delicate white flowers, if you are in the South of the country we recommend a visit to Brandy Mount House Gardens in Alresford, Hampshire where the NCCPG national collections of Snowdrops and Daphnes are kept by Michael Baron. For those of you further afield, Easton Walled Gardens near Grantham, Lincolnshire where beautiful snowdrops will continue to bloom in the weeks ahead.

It is wondrous how the colour white can add a bright, positive outlook to your life whether inside or outside your home. To bring the first white buds of spring to your garden why not grow Snowdrops in your own garden? They are available locally now at Manor Nursery, Angmering.

Manhattan Double Wardrobe with Drawers

We can all recall with fondness our childhood bedrooms, although we may not want to recreate them! Pick an age appropriate theme and favourite colours and away you go!

I feel our white furniture is a great base for a child’s room as it will not become dated and colour themes can be changed around the white furniture as your child grows. Our Manhattan Range is my personal favourite. We have everything you need from our Manhattan Single or Double Wardrobes with drawers (the double is also available without drawers) to our New England Single Bed (mattress not inc.), a choice of Manhattan Bedside Table/cabinet or with drawers. Our Manhattan Multi Drawer is fantastic for a child’s room with seven drawers providing plentiful storage. If you are so inclined our Manhattan Range is also available with oak tops (excluding beds and wardrobes). The choice is yours!

But we have just one little problem – at the moment we do not have enough floor space available to change things as we would like to!!!
