Furnishing a Guest Bedroom

The guest bedroom is often the last room in a home to be decorated and furnished, and as a result can easily finish up being a little thrown together using any bits and bobs of old furniture and furnishings you can find.

It really needn’t be like this! The gust bedroom is really one of the easiest spaces to design. A guest bedroom may be used by people of all ages and both genders, with their own tastes and style ideas. The simplest way to create a calm and inviting space for all of your guests to enjoy is simply to create a tranquil white interior.

Keeping to a simple design with minimal accessories will result in a welcoming space anyone will be happy to spend time with. Choose a simple white bed-frame such as our New England Bed, and as space allows just a couple of white bedside tables and perhaps a wardrobe.

Think about how the furniture needs to work. Do your guests stay for long periods at a time? Do they really need so many spaces and options in which to store their clothes?! Old favourites, new options!

Inside you will find all our best selling dressers such as the large white New Hampshire Dresser, and the classic Burlington Dresser featuring white open shelves above and a solid oak top on the base.

If you are a fan of the shaker style Rhode Island Dresser, you now have extra choices to make! Not only is this dresser available finished all in white in a choice of two sizes – 5ft wide or 4ft wide, it is now also available with a solid oak top as pictured right.  Both the large and small versions can now be purchased with an oak top, and as always the bases are all available to purchase separately. We think these new versions look stunning, and add a stylish twist to a popular, classic design… and we do need to thank our loyal customers who kept asking for these options and so spurred us on to create them!

Also new for this brochure is the New England Dresser, featuring an oak top and large storage cupboards below. This new dresser has fluted detailing and stands on sturdy white painted legs, giving it a very unique style.

For something completely different, take a look at the new Provence Sideboard. This new range of furniture features hand carved white painted French Provencal Style legs. Instead of the usual oak tops we have used on other products, we have chosen something a little different – this range features a dark grey coloured oak, reminiscent of driftwood, giving a very coastal look to the furniture.
