Gatwick Airport is situated 3.1 miles north of Crawley, West Sussex, and 28.4 Miles south of Central London. It is London’s second largest and second busiest by total passenger traffic in the United Kingdom. Gatwick is Europe’s leading point to point airport and has the world’s busiest single runway averaging 52 aircraft movements an hour.

In 2010, over 31.3 million passengers passed through Gatwick, making it the 9th largest in Europe by passenger traffic.   It is possible to fly from Gatwick to Boston the largest city in the New England area of the north eastern United States. New England is made up of six states, Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut and New Hampshire.

This area of the United States was the inspiration behind New England Lifestyle, our company in West Sussex that designs its own white painted furniture to reflect the style of New England.  New England Lifestyle has furniture for the Living room, Dining Room, Bedroom, and Home Office.

The Manhattan Range of bedroom furniture has three types of bedside table, the Manhattan bedside table, the Manhattan Bedside Cabinet and the Manhattan Bedside with drawers. This gives a choice of bedside table where you can have different tables in different bedrooms but still keeping the same style.

There are three types of Manhattan chest of drawers, the Manhattan Chest of Drawers, the Manhattan Tall Chest and the Manhattan Multi Drawer.  The choice of chest of drawers will depend on the space you have and the amount of storage you require. All the above Manhattan items also come with beautiful solid oak tops.

Also available in the Manhattan Range is the Blanket Box and a range of different size Headboards to suit the standard range of beds from single to super king. White Dressers

Posted by Chris Burrin, on July 13th, 2011, under New England News, RSS

Originally, a dresser was located in the kitchen and was a utilitarian piece of furniture where meat and other foods were dressed or prepared, while prepared food was placed on sideboards in the dining room ready to be served.

Gradually the purely utilitarian function of the dresser was supplemented with other functions, such as a means of displaying the best crockery in a farmhouse. Once it became a means of display, the dresser could also be found in dining rooms and kitchens where it served as a sideboard and a place to store and display dinner ware.

New England Lifestyle design and manufacture a range of White Dressers and one of the most popular is the New Hampshire Dresser shown in the picture above. This dresser has four cupboards in the base with a shelf in each, and four drawers. The top of the dresser has a large display section, four more small drawers and a wine rack for fourteen bottles. This dresser comes in two sizes, the larger one is 203cm wide and the smaller one is 109cm wide.

Another of New England Lifestyle’s popular dressers is the Rhode Island Dresser. This is a more traditional design, and has two display cupboards with doors and shelving, with three drawers and cupboards in the base.  This dresser is not quite as tall as the New Hampshire Dresser and is ideal if you have a height restriction such as you might find in an old cottage kitchen. This dresser comes in two sizes, the wider one being 152cm wide and the smaller one 122cm wide.

All the dressers can be supplied as a base only, without the top, and they then make an ideal sideboard unit. The Rhode Island Dresser Base can also be supplied with a solid oak top for a more traditional look. These dressers can be a great asset to your home and offer extra storage space for both china and other larger items in the cupboards of the base. The other dressers in our extensive range can be seen at the dresser page of our website.
